One of the ways to improve the beauty of your home as well as the value is the easy job of painting. Even though it’s an easy improvement to do, it is one of the best things you can do for your house. In this economoy, anything that is in your control like improving the value of your house is worth doing.

So here are 6 easy steps to painting your house right.  These steps come from my experience in being a painter San Diego.   So it should be useful and helpful for doing the job right.

First step in this process is the preparation of the surface.  Unless your home has been through some sort of disaster, there won’t be too much preparation to worry about.  All you will need to do is make sure it is sanded and smoothed.

Second step is priming.  This is an easy stage and the main goal is to use a primer that is tinted close to the finish color.  This will make it easier to apply the finish color.

Third step in this procedure is to do a surface preparation again.  This step is to make certain that you didn’t miss anything on the first go around.  Things such as nail holes, or any other dents or blemishes in the wall.  You fill those holes with a drywall compound.

Fourth step is to apply the first coat of paint.  With this step you want to brush one surface wall at a time. 

Fifth step to follow will be preparing the surface once again.  You are doing this to check over the surface one last time to make sure it is smooth prior to the last coat of paint.  Once more, any of the imperfections you may find can be taken care of with a drywall compound.

Final step is to apply the second coat of paint.  This is the best step because you will see all your hard work come together.  So again, you are going to be painting one surface wall at time.  Be sure that the coat of paint has been evenly distributed. 

Follow these 6 steps completely and you will be pleasantly surprised on the outcome of your house painting.  A simple coat of paint can change a drab room into a beautiful addition.

First thing, you do want to start getting quotes from several different contractors.You aren’t just trying for the best price.You are doing this so you will be able to get to know the company that you will be working with.Well of course, if you do get a good price that’s good, but don’t make that be your main goal.Remember, you want a great job to be done.

Second, you want to know if they have any guarantees to their work.  See if the company has a strong guarantee to your satisfaction.This shows you how confident they are in the work they can do for you.

Thirdly, you will want to know when and how soon can they start.Also, you want to get a good feel on when they think they can get it done and how quickly.When you have to cause a disruption to your life, like having to paint your house.  You will want to know
how fast they feel they can get things back in order.

Finally, get references of previous customers.Contact them as soon as possible to see how they felt about the work of the company.Sell how well the job was completed, if they finished on time, and if it is a good company to work with.

Do this things and you will ensure a stress free and pleasant experience working during this stressful time.  Take it from my years of working with painters in San Diego, doing these few steps will help you greatly.
