Most people have experienced the excitement that builds up when you are waiting to go on holiday, from the moment you book to arriving at the airport. Then it happens. Your flight is delayed, the hotel is overbooked and you get moved to a second rate hostel, the weather is worse than at home and someone pinches all your euros. For all of us who have stayed at home for our holiday this year, let us delight in the misfortune of others who were so smug before they set off but were laughing on the other side of their faces when they returned with less of a tan than they set off with.

“Our holiday was going swimmingly until we arrived at our hotel. Our window faced onto a building site, the toilet was constantly blocked and the bed linen was covered in some very questionable stains. The couple staying there before us must have had a very good holiday, if you know what I mean.”

“We booked into a naturist resort by accident.  My mother in law was not amused to say the least.“

“The beginning and the end of our holiday was terrible. First our taxi was late picking us up so we missed our flight. When we finally arrived at our hotel, it turned out they had over booked our room and so we were moved to a disgusting hotel down the road. Our room had a single bed and a camp bed.The final kick in the teeth was that our luggage was sent to Heathrow and we flew into Edinburgh.”

“We stayed on an island that was postcard picture worthy. The only problem was, it was infested with insects that crawled all over the beach, the sun beds, they got into the bedroom and bathroom and everywhere. This holiday is one to forget.“

Our mind is affected by what we see, colours can change our mood in an instant, this is why interior design has become such a popular investment. The right interior design can change a person’s mood in the short and long term. The feeling you get when you walk into your favourite shop is created through the sights, sounds and sometimes smells of that place. It is all in the interior design that provides you feeling through your eyesight.

Provide The Right Mood In The Bedroom.

We use our bedroom as a sanctuary of relaxation, where we can refresh after the day and prepare to sleep.

Colour has the biggest impact on us as it is the first factor of interior design that enters the eye, and colour should be manipulated to be relaxing. Pastel colours have a relaxing effect.

The furniture and its positioning will also have an impact on our mood. Bedroom interior design must be simple and most of the times minimal in order to provide you with open spaces that usually inspires relaxation. A busy bedroom will have negative implications on your mood as it subconsciously raises stress levels.

If however, you choose to use your bedroom interior design for setting the mood of a romantic evening all you have to do is, change the bed linen from pastel soft colour sheets to bright red or black in satin or silk. To cover the soothing colours on the walls and create romantic shadows, use candles instead of the electric light.

Other Tips For Your Bedroom Design.

Keeping your bedroom neat and tidy will help you to relax but you can add a few features for the changing seasons to keep the interior design exciting. Major changes will do the opposite of relaxation because it takes time to get used to different surroundings and it may take a while to relax again.
