Sometimes we tend to take things for granted especially when they don’t seem important. Some days ago I read about how a woman was struggling to put in the duvet in the duvet cover to the point of labelling them “useless” and complicated. I havespent a few years writing about cheap duvet covers and what have you but I have never really taken the time to write a post or review ( call it whatever you like) about this.
Let me quickly provide an easier way on how to going about doing this. Hopefully it will save you from the frustration and possible damage to your colorful duvet covers , which may be as a result of pulling and folding agressively.
Different people do this differently. I once met a woman who actually crawls inside her flannel duvet sets in order to stretch and flatten the comforter while inside. In my opinion, this is too much work – for starters you have to lay the cover on the floor, which can mess it up especially and may even collect some invisible germs.
Here is a better option, just roll it up like a carpet. Once you’ve done that just put it in the duvet and unroll it. The next one is my favourite way of doing it. Turn the cover inside out and then line it up i.e. the corner of the quilt with the inside seam of the cover. While still holding on the corners flip it right side out and you’ll be done – just like that.
Another option is to buy and use some duvet clips. You use these clips to hold the quilt with the inside seam together so when you flip the cover right side out it fits perfectly into position. A metal clip is fine but try to find a soft foam one for best results. Once you’ve clipped them on then flip the cover back right side out.
